70Materia, sustainability at its best

For 70Materia, sustainability has always been a core element of its work ethic, from sourcing local raw materials through to developing low-impact processing techniques and a fully recyclable single-layer, chemical-free material. However, one of the latest projects by 70Materia offers an even more radical interpretation of the concept of sustainability. This lies in the decision to use waste material from the construction site as a raw material for the surfaces.

Using the site’s inert materials instead of sand or gravel has several advantages, as no new raw material has to be extracted or transported to the site. Moreover, the disposal of waste material in landfills is reduced, offering a perfect example of a circular economy. From an aesthetic point of view, the surface retains the hallmark elegance of a 70Materia product, but with even greater returns in terms of sustainability.
