Material
From mixture to surface
70Materia is, first of all, a material. A mixture of cement, water and either sand or gravel, to which colouring oxides, inert materials or other substances can be added depending on the desired result. Every 70Materia surface is made from three different mixes – Origine, Colore and Progetto – which differ exclusively in terms of the raw materials used. These are ennobled through our first-rate workmanship, which brings the beauty of the material to the fore.
Origine is a tribute to the territory of 70Materia, the Veneto region of Italy. The mix consists of locally sourced raw materials, cement and water, and its texture changes according to the colour, texture and grain of the local raw material.
Colore adds a colouring oxide to the sand, cement and water mix. This surface is available in twelve shades reflecting 70Materia’s bond with the places from which it draws inspiration.
In the Progetto surface, the mix can be customised by adding other materials according to the desired effect. Whether you opt for glass, marble or inert material recovered from your renovation work, Progetto is the expression of utmost creativity.
70Materia creates single-layer surfaces. Sanding is fundamental during installation, and serves the dual purpose of refining the surface and bringing out the desired grain. The sanding intensity determines the texture: this is discreet in the smooth finish, more evident in the aged, sanded and brushed finishes, and a full-blown stone effect in the bush-hammered finish. Further sanding can change the surface style.
